Somatic Psychotherapy

When our nervous system feels safe, we naturally come into connection with ourselves, others and the world around us. Stress and adversity often result in persistent states of anxiety and vigilance or numbness and depression that interfere with our ability to
fully participate in our lives and relationships. Somatic psychotherapy supports nervous system regulation by slowing down
and connecting to our innate strengths and resources in the present moment. Instead of just focussing on the thinking
mind, we attend to the language of the body to support the rewiring of deeply held patterns and limiting beliefs at their
root. The sensations, emotions, images, movement impulses and memories held in the body have a remarkable
intelligence that guides the healing process.

Just like a weather worn tree growing from a rocky crack, we have been shaped by our experiences and environment.
There is remarkable wisdom in the adaptations we make to navigate life's challenges, even when they become painful
and limiting. As we recognise and honour the way these adaptations have served us, and bring awareness to their origins,
they begin to soften their grip on the present, and make room for more choice, authenticity and connection. Just as context
can shape us in restricting ways, the right environment can nurture growth. A tiny seed grows into a mighty forest giant when
it is held and nourished in a relational web of soil, rain, sun and fellow creatures. So it is with us. Our work together is to nurture
your innate impulse towards healing and wholeness.

“It is the experience of being in connection that fulfills the longing we have to feel fully alive”.
